Composing

Composing music for theatre, for film, for specific occasions, for myself; what a way to dive into the mystery of being alive! It is a wonderful tool for exploring what connects us and sometimes, a chart or at least a portal to an inner life. Layering sound to produce a magical whole, I am a magician.

I have wetted my appetite on four Summer Shakespeare Productions, and seven seasons of The Manawatu Festival of New Arts (writing and adapting music for individual plays therein, as well as connnecting pieces of music). I have composed and recorded the music for one animated film, and am working on another.
